2007 - 2008 Membership Building Contests

Why did you join Toastmasters? Is it because someone invited you? Did your boss tell you to join? Have you told anyone about Toastmasters lately? Well it’s time to do your part. Give others the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters program, while gaining prizes for yourself and your club.

There are three annual Toastmasters club membership-building contests, and one individual Toastmasters membership-building contest. Here is what you need to know to participate.

  1. Smedley Award runs from August 1, 2007 until September 30, 2007. If your club adds 5 members, the club qualifies for the "Smedley Award" ribbon for your banner. The club also earns a choice of one module from the "The Better Speaker Series", "The Successful Club Series" or "The Leadership Excellence Series."

  2. Talk Up Toastmasters! runs from February 1, 2008 thru March 31, 2008. If your club adds 5 members, the club qualifies for the "Talk Up Toastmasters!" ribbon for your banner. The club also earns a choice of one module from the "The Better Speaker Series", "The Successful Club Series" or "The Leadership Excellence Series".

  3. Beat the Clock runs from May 1, 2008 thru June 30, 2008. If your club adds 5 members, the club qualifies for the "Beat the Clock" ribbon for your banner. The club also earns a choice of one module from the "The Better Speaker Series", "The Successful Club Series" or "The Leadership Excellence Series".

  4. Individual Recognition runs from July 1, 2007 until June 30, 2008. Encourage everyone you know to join. If you sponsor 5 new members, you receive a unique gold pin. If you sponsor 10 new members, you receive a Gold Star pin. If you sponsor 15 new members, you receive a Toastmasters necktie or Toastmasters scarf.

Let’s start spreading the word about Toastmasters to everyone we meet. Give others the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters program.
